ARMS AND LEGS MICROSURGERY
Hand Surgery focuses on the treatment of all diseases and injuries of the upper limb and in some countries it is already a separate medical specialty. It is implemented by orthopedics or plastic surgeons who boast the necessary expertise and use all the available techniques of microsurgery. The use of magnification either with a microscope or a magnifying glass is necessary for the majority of interventions.
Hand surgeons are trained in the surgical treatment of all wounds of the upper limb that may involve a fixation of fractures, tendon and nerve sutures and vascular anastomoses, while the more complex operations involve mutilated parts reconstruction. They also treat chronic diseases of the hand, such as arthritis, carpal tunnel syndrome, ulnar neuritis, ejection finger, tenosynovitis de Quervain, Dupuytren syndrome, cysts and ganglia, congenital anomalies and tumors.
